Look of the Day!

Here is our look of the day!  This bright colored flowy tank with orange accents is perfect look for a fun day out in the summer!  

We paired this bright colored tank with navy scalloped shorts to enhance the top's bright colors.  We then added some of our favorite orange accents to really make the outfit stand out. The jewelry featured with this look is simple but elegant.  These orange hoops match the top perfectly but don't take away from the outfit, or overpower it.  They give it the perfect pop!  We also like to pair this top with either a simple gold chain necklace as seen on our model, or a fun hippy style beaded necklace with an orange tassel that is perfect for the summer!  Finally we added this JPK bag, it's the perfect size and a great color for any time of year!

So Southern Fried Green Tomatoes

Fried green tomatoes are a staple in every southerner's diet!  Here is a great recipe that you can enjoy all summer long!  So southern and so delicious!

You will need:

1 large egg, lightly beaten

1/2 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup self-rising cornmeal mix

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

3 medium-size, firm green tomatoes, cut into 1/3-inch-thick slices

Vegetable oil

Preparation:

1. 1. Whisk together egg and buttermilk. Combine cornmeal mix, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup flour in a shallow dish. Dredge tomato slices in remaining 1/4 cup flour; dip in egg mixture, and dredge in cornmeal mixture.
2. 2. Pour oil to a depth of 1/2 inch in a large cast-iron skillet; heat to 375° over medium-high heat. Drop tomatoes, in batches, into hot oil, and cook 2 minutes on each side or until golden. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle hot tomatoes with salt to taste.
